Metallic Foils provide an easy way to add that "wow" factor to any project you are creating! #FoilEverything
Below you can find answers to some of the FAQ about foils, plus videos of foiling basics and of projects Jenn has created using foils.
FAQ
What are metallic foils?
Metallic Foils are made from a thin layer of non-reactive metallic sheets that are fused to a clear cellophane sheet. These beautiful foils can be transferred to the surface of your choice with the help of our foil adhesives, as well using a heat setting with an iron (for fabrics). These foils allow you to control the amount of foil that is transferred, whether you want a full transfer or partial transfer. Check out the first video below for instructions on how to foil!
Where can I use foils?
On just about anything!! Jenn has used foils on projects from terracotta pots, tumblers, furniture, walls, roller skates, and much more! You can even use many of our foils on clothes and fabrics, just make sure you look for the "Textile Friendly" confirmation in the description of each foil. If you have any questions, just ask!
What foil colors & designs do you have?
We have hundreds of different options! Our foils come in a wide variety of designs, colors, metallics, and holographs. If you don't see the color you are needing, please call and we will get it for you! Check out all of the foils we offer here!
Will the foils transfer 100%?
Unfortunately no, about 90-95% of the foil will transfer. This is why we always recommend painting our base layer a color that will compliment the foil we are using. As this color will peak through. We also highly recommend using our Foil Adhesive, as this adhesive was created for foils.

Foiling Basics
We have a few different Foil Adhesives to choose from. To download written instructions on how to use each click on the adhesive of your choice:
For this technique you will begin by wadding up your foil into a ball. Make sure the pretty side of the foil is on the inside of your "ball" and the back side of the foil is showing. Now you can pounce or dab the foil onto the surface! Keep adjusting the foil ball so that there is foil for you to transfer. This is a great technique to use with multiple colors to create an organic look.
Crinkle Technique
Crinkle technique combines parts of both of the methods of transferring foils we've already covered. You will start by grabbing the foil and crumbling it all up. Then you will un-crumble it and lay it on your surface. Next, you will rub the foil with a soft cloth or scrubber brush to transfer the foil. This technique is great for creating a little more of a rustic look with your foil!
Foiling Your Wardrobe
Did you know you could use foils on clothes? Yup, you sure can! Just make sure the foils you are using are textile friendly.
Using the DecoFoil Spray Adhesive makes transferring on clothes a breeze. Shake the can well and spray where you want to transfer. Allow to dry for about 10 minutes before you transfer the foil.
