For best results, I recommend using our APS Foil Adhesive. Apply one coat and allow to dry to a firm tack, approximately 1 hour. Then you will transfer the foil by applying the foil carefully over the tacked surface. Make sure you have the pretty side, color, or pattern side facing up.

 
Once the foil has been placed onto the surface, rub over the top of the foil using a cloth, toothbrush, or scrub brush to transfer the foil to the surface. You can lift part of the foil to check how much foil has transferred, if you need more transfer, place back down and rub more.

Metallic Foils are made from a thin layer of non-reactive metallic sheets that are fused to a clear cellophane sheet. These beautiful foils can be transferred to the surface of your choice with the help of our foil adhesives, as well using a heat setting with an iron (for fabrics). These foils allow you to control the amount of foil that is transferred, whether you want a full transfer or partial transfer. Check out the first video below for instructions on how to foil!

Jenn has used foils on projects from terracotta pots, tumblers, furniture, walls, roller skates, and much more!  You can even use many of our foils on clothes and fabrics, just make sure you look for the "Textile Friendly" confirmation in the description of each foil and use one of the Textile foil adhesives. Unfortunately no, about 93-98% of the foil will transfer. This is why we always recommend painting your base layer a color that will compliment the foil you are using, as this color will peak through. We also highly recommend using our Foil Adhesive, as this adhesive was created for transferring foils.
