About Artistic Painting Studio
Hi, I'm Jenn.
I've been painting, stenciling, and teaching for more than 30 years, and I still believe every person has a creative side. Some people won't admit it. Others, like me, are always looking for a new way to use it. Artistic Painting Studio is where I share what I've learned, along with the products that make it possible.
How APS started
In 1989 I sold my jet skis to open a small stencil shop in Fresno called The Stenciled Garden. Over the next decade I launched my own stencil line, taught stenciling and faux finishing across Fresno County, and wrote four books: Painted Chairs, Painted Whimsies, Transformations, and Painted Fabric Fun. I was also a guest on the Carol Duvall Show. In 2005 the business became Artistic Painting Studio, and in 2012 we moved to Huntington Beach, California.
What we do today
Today APS is best known for transfer foils: more than 600 designs, cut to order by the foot or the roll, plus the adhesive, kits, and topcoats to use them on furniture, decor, fabric, and hats. We also carry decorative pattern rollers, stencils, and finishing products. Every month, Foil Club members get a new collection I pick myself.
Teaching is still the heart of it. If we sell it, I want you to know how to use it, so the techniques are all in our free step-by-step tutorials.
A family business
APS is family-run. My daughter Ashley joined in 2016 and runs our social media and digital marketing. My son Tyler joined in 2018 and handles operations. And our rescue pup Cleo supervises from the studio floor.
